Cacique Update- April 6, 2010

Caciques: Molly and Nick

Yesterday, “an adventure day” according to Maxey, was busy and exciting. Two Marine Eco classes took scuba trips to the aquaculture cage, spotting three bull sharks! For many of the students, it was their first trip out to the cage and they were amazed by the cobia and different fish inside.  Human Ecology class went fishing with local fisherman, and were able to watch the fisherman in action. It was interesting to learn about the cultural and economic implications of fishing on Eleuthera.  Conch, lionfish, queen triggerfish, grouper, and queen angelfish were all caught! After a adventurous day of classes,we had a relaxing exploration time and a wonderful turkey dinner!
