Cacique Update October 6, 2011

An Update Poem By Caciques Harrison & Katie T.

Each morning we wipe sleep from our eyes

For daily with the sun we rise

Round the flagpole, morning dew

As the day begins to brew

Lift up your head to the rising sun

Echoes, uniting us as one

Against ripping currents we swim

As beneath the waves we learn to live

Living here at The Island School

The environment becomes our tool

Used to plow, sough and reap

Embracing courage, from high rock we leap

Push ourselves to limits unknown

Facing challenge but never alone

A new future we aim to start

Eleuthera will always remain in our heart

Freedom, it blows in the breeze

A new world beyond what we sea

We learn, we lead, and scuba dive

Oh what was in store when we arrived!
