We boarded the bus today, anxious to meet our commuity outreach buddies for the first time. We were hoping to have a good first encounter since we’re spending this upcoming weekend with them for homestay. We split up into groups according to grades and played games to help learn names. The Deep Creek Middle School students were much better at the games than the Island School students. The Deep Creek students were funny and grateful. Then some of us went on walks with our buddy so that we could get to know them personally. Every student seemed to enjoy their buddy’s company.
